She is dedicated to making sure each client feels like the best versions of themselves when they leave her chair. Ensuring a safe space for clients and at the same time making sure her staff is just as well cared for is her biggest priority as co-owner. Her favorite services to perform are precision bobs, blonding, color corrections, and curly cuts on long hair. She loves to chat about cats, weird history, astrology, and fantasy fiction.

Dak (She/Her)
Co-Owner, Master Stylist, Curlology Certified Curl Specialist. Dakota (AKA Dak) (she/her) (Taurus) is co-owner and master stylist with 12 years of experience. Dak combines her passions for public health, human rights, and gender-affirming hair everyday as a stylist and business owner. She loves doing anything alternative, creative and textured including short hair, clipper cuts, fades, shags, and curly hair. Dak is your neuro-spicy, alt stylist with quiet music and fidget toys galore! Dak is totally fine with a quiet service, or she’s happy to chat about food, community, cats, and anything DIY!
Dak’s hourly rate for services is $98+, and she is booking about 10 weeks in advance.
Liz (she/her)
Master Stylist, Fine Hair Specialist. Liz (she/her) (Cancer) is a master stylist with 10 years of experience. She specializes in adding vivid colors into your natural color, fine hair, and edgy haircuts, but is also very talented when it comes to natural colors, blonding and balayage services. Liz loves critters, mountains, and being outside as much as humanly possible!
Liz’s hourly rate for services is $75+, and she is currently booking 4-6 weeks in advance.
Kaylan (She/Her)
Stylist.
Kaylan (she/her) (Aquarius) is a recent graduate with a passion for everything gender-affirming and alternative. Her favorite services include but are not limited to clipper cuts and everything vivid. She has a love for fuzzy quadrupeds (5 cats and 1 dog). Always happy to chat about kids, work, life, or your next big adventure.
Kaylan’s hourly rate for services is $50+, and she is available for some same-day appointments!
Cheslea (she/her)
Stylist. Chelsea (she/her) (Capricorn) is a stylist with 7 years of experience making her clients feel like their best selves! She loves all things hair but specializes in blonding, balayage and color services. Chelsea is a lifelong native of the Lawrence area, she’s your go-to if you are looking for something fun to do, eat or drink. Her two young kids keep her plenty busy when she’s away from The Hive! You can count on great conversation and incredible attention to detail in Chelsea’s chair.
Chelsea’s hourly rate for services is $65+, and she is booking 3-4 weeks in advance!

Stylist & Makeup Artist. Ashley (she/her) (Virgo) is a stylist with 7 years of experience! She brings a wealth of knowledge about extensions, balayage, makeup, and curly hair to her services! Ashley also loves a perm, a colorful transformation, a cute short cut or long layers and doesn’t shy away from a challenge.
Ashley’s hourly rate for services is $70+ and books 1-2 weeks in advance!
Kaylee (she/Her)
Stylist & Makeup Artist. Kaylee (she/her) (Cancer) has been doing hair for a little over a year, and has incredible natural talent! She brings a love of layers, alternative looks, and bad-ass colors to the team. Kaylee will deliver an incredible, flippy blowout for that perfect finish on a layered cut! Kaylee is new to town and very motivated to build her clientele. Come chat with her about music, anime, cats, and monster high!

Tess (she/her)
Esthetician & Nail Technician & Assistant Manager. Tess (she/her) (Leo) has been a Nail Technician for four years, doing incredible acrylic nail design. She is also now our team’s Esthetician, starting her journey into facials, body waxing, customized brows and lash lifts, and more! Tess loves seeing a client’s reaction at the end of their service. She values authenticity and kindness but puts compassion above all. When Tess isn’t doing services, you can find her taking care of business as amazing Assistant Manager!
Tess’s facials start at $85, nail services start at $95+, and she is available for some same-day appointments!
